VOLTIC STONE The current D02 can be used as the entrance for 18/2 0-10V LED dimming control lines; Lutron compatible control lines should be planned separately for 18/2 + 22/2 shielded, 16/2 + 22/2 shielded and other composite structures. Use Lutron references only to explain compatible cable structure; final suitability depends on the system manual and project requirements.

Case 1 · 0-10V dimming

Commercial Lighting 0-10V LED Driver Dimming Control

When retrofitting a small office, shop, warehouse or basement with LED fixtures, the dimmer/controller needs to be connected to the low-voltage dimming input of the LED driver. The system goal is to clearly distinguish between line-voltage power and low-voltage dimming signals.

System Equipment

0-10V dimmer, LED driver, LED fixture, lighting control panel, junction box, Class 2 control output.

Cable Route

The low-voltage dimming line goes from the dimmer or control panel to the dimming input of each LED driver; the line-voltage power of the lamps is an independent compliance line and is not mixed with the low-voltage control line as an ordinary line.

Recommended Cable

18/2 LED dimmer control cable; the color is recommended to be planned around the industry identification logic of purple/pink or purple/grey; commercial ceilings need to confirm the plenum/riser level according to the project.

Wiring Notes

0-10V Polarity, dimming range, whether the driver supports sinking/sourcing, and Class 1/2 boundaries must be confirmed according to the device description; low-voltage dimming lines are not regarded as lamp power supply lines.

Case 2 · Lutron QS / HomeWorks

QS Link / HomeWorks / GRAFIK Eye Control Link

Lutron QS type systems typically involve both low-voltage power supply and MUX/MUX communications. The system goal is to use composite cables to reduce multiple pull wires on the jobsite and ensure that communication wire pairs are shielded and drained correctly.

System Equipment

Processor, power panel, GRAFIK Eye / HomeWorks / Quantum device, wired keypad, QS device, control link terminal.

Cable Route

From the processor/control panel to the keypad or QS device, a common pair is a pair of 18 AWG power conductors plus a pair of 22 AWG shielded data pair, with a drain wire.

Recommended Cable

18/2 power + 22/2 shielded data pair as GRX-CBL-346S class compliant construction orientation; longer distances or specific systems require larger power wire gauge per Lutron documentation.

Wiring Notes

MUX/MUX communication wire pairs must be twisted and shielded intact; drain wires are processed according to Lutron corresponding files; the page only writes compatible / equivalent structure, not official authorization.

Case 3 · QS Shade

Sivoia QS / Palladiom Shade Wired Shade Control

Wired curtain and shade motors require low-voltage power and data communications. The goal of the system is to embed the curtain box or motor position in advance to avoid callbacks after the decoration is completed.

System Equipment

Shade power panel, QS shade motor, roller shade, keypad, processor, window pocket or shade pocket.

Cable Route

From the shade power panel or control head to each shade motor position; leave enough wire length to facilitate subsequent motor installation and maintenance.

Recommended Cable

16/2 power + 22/2 shielded data pair is used for higher current or longer distance shading scenarios; 18/2 + 22/2 shielded may also be used for short distances, ultimately based on system requirements.

Wiring Notes

Shade motor current, distance, voltage drop, curtain box space and termination method must be confirmed in advance; do not directly say that ordinary 18/2 LED lines are available for all shade systems.

Case 4 · Intelligent building lighting control

Building lighting control panels and multi-zone dimming systems

Offices, schools, and light commercial spaces may have multiple lighting zones, sensors, low-voltage control panels, and dimming drivers. The goal of the system is to incorporate lighting control lines into project-level label, path, and level management.

System Equipment

Lighting control panel, occupancy sensor, daylight sensor, relay/dimming module, 0-10V LED driver, BMS/BAS interface.

Cable Route

From the control panel to each area sensor, relay/dimming module or driver; some points are controlled by 18/2, and some points require low-voltage communication lines or manufacturer-specific lines.

Recommended Cable

18/2 LED dimmer cable, 18/4 control cable, 22 AWG shielded twisted pair or special composite line, determined according to the system brand and drawings.

Wiring Notes

Commercial projects focus on system manufacturer requirements, plenum/riser levels, line-voltage and low-voltage wiring separation, wire number labels and commissioning records.

Can you directly write Lutron to be officially compatible?

Authorized, certified, official cannot be written without written authorization and test evidence. Compatible / equivalent structure can be stated around structure, wire gauge, shielding and system boundaries, but the copy is subject to trademark and compliance review.

0-10V Are dimming wire and Lutron composite wire the same product?

No. 0-10V is commonly used for 18/2 low-voltage dimming control lines; Lutron QS/shade types also commonly require 22 AWG shielded communication wire pairs and drain wires, which should be planned as a more professional composite line product.
